    Immigration Reception/ Case Assistant

    Our firm is seeking a highly motivated Spanish-speaking Immigration Reception/ Case Assistant to join our dynamitic and collaborative team. We seek someone who is personable, hungry to learn, and eager to work in a team environment where growth is valued and encouraged. We are seeking a team player to help us obtain the best results for our clients and team.

    The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of immigration law experience, have excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills, and be detail oriented.

    Pay Range: $20 - $27 / hour based on experience and education

    Job Qualifications and Competencies

    Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently is REQUIRED

    1 year Immigration Experience Required - 2 years of Immigration experience is Preferred.

    Ability to take initiative and problem solve

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Excellent phone skills

    Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills

    Attention to detail

    Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required

    Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

    Ability to type at least 45 wpm

    Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, internet proficient

    Ability to occasionally lift large case files **with an excess weight of 25 Lbs.

    Must be willing to travel to our Van Nuys Office once a week, or as needed

    Ability to arrive punctually from Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM & - Work 1 Saturday per month

    Work 1 Saturday that the office is open or otherwise agreed by both Employer and Employee.

    Job Description and Qualifications

    Assist caseworkers in document collection from clients

    Assist case managers with case management duties and tasks

    Assist caseworkers by preparing form communications via text/email/letters for clients

    Complete accurate English translations from Spanish of biographical documents or declarations and serve as interpreter as needed

    Assist in processing mail and preparing and mailing out packages

    Assist in completing general tasks, including with copying, scanning, faxing, emailing, and note-taking

    Answer, screen, and forward phone calls in a professional manner and take detailed messages to assist and support the caseworkers

    Assist caseworkers by providing clients with case status and provide timely responses to client’s questions

    Assist caseworkers and attorneys by scheduling appointments

    Work with our case management system by placing notes, reviewing tasks, data entry, etc.

    Efficient communication with case managers & attorneys regarding case issues

    Provide back-up support to the reception team, including answering phone calls, collecting payments, greetings clients, and covering the desk during breaks and lunch breaks.

    Close files by scanning and archiving files in database system

    Travel to our Van Nuys office 1 day a week, or as needed, to assist with USCIS cases

    Have reliable transportation to occasionally travel to the courthouse, post office, or other important errands
