    Job Description

    As a member of the Imperial Dade Human Resources department, the PAYROLL MANAGER is responsible for managing all payroll processing, reporting, auditing, payroll tax and compliance for our US business. This is a hands-on position that will oversee a Payroll Supervisor and two Payroll Specialists, and will be responsible for managing, developing, and improving overall efficiency to lead the team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Oversee all payroll functions for Imperial Dade’s 60 US locations and 3500+ employees using ADP Workforce Now and ADP eTIME
    • Maintain payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
    • Resolve payroll issues as they arise and implement procedures to mitigate future risks and errors
    • Maintain data integrity within the payroll system; develop strong controls and procedures to ensure accurate and timely payroll
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices
    • Manage all system integrations, specifically ADP eTIME with ADP Workforce Now
    • Collaborate with the Finance teams on General Ledger posting, payroll budgeting inquiries, to ensure accurate reporting
    • Recommend the development of new policies and procedures utilizing knowledge of federal, state and local government regulations and reporting requirement
    • Advise on the tax implications of certain matters, such as adding employees in new states or localities, fringe benefits, tax gross-ups, etc.
    • Audit quarterly tax filings and file amendments were necessary
    • Work with external auditors on annual audits, walkthroughs, and all other information gathering.
    • Supervise a Payroll Supervisor and two (2) Payroll Administrators
    • Collaborate and cooperate with other HR professionals when required

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS/BA in business administration (management/finance/accounting)
    • 7+ years of payroll experience, with 3+ years of managerial experience
    • Demonstrated experience with onboarding acquired companies preferred
    • Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and ADP eTIME preferred
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively
    • Understanding of basic accounting concepts to assist in general ledger reconciliations
    • Ability to work with all levels of management and employees
    • Strong relationship-building and customer service oriented with all levels of employees
