About the Role:

UNICARGO INC is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Import Operations Specialist to join our team in Kearny, NJ. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing international freight and customs processes for a dynamic logistics company. Responsibilities:

Coordinate and manage day-to-day import shipment operations from origin to final delivery

Communicate with overseas agents, carriers, and vendors to ensure timely cargo movement

Prepare, review, and process import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists

Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and CBP entry requirements

Track and monitor inbound shipments, proactively resolving delays or discrepancies

Coordinate with customs brokers to facilitate smooth customs clearance

Provide exceptional customer service by keeping clients informed on shipment status

Maintain accurate records and update internal logistics management systems

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience in import operations, freight forwarding, or international logistics

Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, Incoterms, and import compliance procedures

Experience with ocean and/or air freight import processes

Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Team player with a can-do attitude
