Import Specialist - TCRS4550

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Import Specialist supports the timely flow of international shipments as the liaison between the logistics and compliance departments of a mid-size 3PL based near Detroit, Michigan.

This is a 100% in-office position.

EXPECTATIONS

• Track and trace shipments with carriers across all modes of transportation
• Arrange shipment movement with carriers as needed
• Obtain required shipping documents and determine services needed and charges due
• Use customer master file to ensure customer instructions and processes are followed
• Keep internal and external partners/customers informed of shipment status
• Prepare and process import documents; process billing invoices, ensure accurate record keeping
• Ability to work well in high pressure situations and adjust to changing environments

ESSENTIALS

• High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2–3 years of experience working in international logistics and/or customs brokers operations
• Solid understanding of import entry process with CBP and other government agencies
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail
