JOB TITLE: In-Charge Resident Assistant
JOB SUMMARY:
The In-Charge Resident Assistant has been designated to serve as the primary point of contact and peer leader during assigned shifts. In addition to performing all standard Resident Assistant duties, the In-Charge Resident Assistant supports team communication, promotes accountability, assists with shift flow and staffing coverage, and helps ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the community.

IN-CHARGE RESIDENT ASSISTANT PAY STRUCTURE: Up to $25.00 per hour plus SIGN ON BONUS
$2000 SIGN ON BONUS FULL-TIME IN-CHARGE RESIDENT ASSISTANT
$1000 SIGN ON BONUS PART-TIME IN-CHARGE RESIDENT ASSISTANT
Start at $21.00 per hour
In-Charge Shift Differential $1.00 / hour
PM Shift Differential $1.50 / hour
NOC Shift Differential $1.00 / hour
Weekend Shift Differential is additional $1.50 / hour

RESIDENT ASSISTANT ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Document healthcare services provided in accordance with policies and procedures
- Perform medication reminders or medication management per resident plan of care
- Perform resident services per plan of care and as needed
- Provide the Director of Nursing with information needed to update resident plans of care
- Respond promptly and appropriately to all emergency response calls
- Accompany and transport residents per plan of care within the community and outside the community as requested
- Facilitate activities during evenings and weekends as assigned
- Serve meals during mealtimes as needed
- Perform wellness checks per plan of care
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned
- Walk the halls regularly to monitor resident safety and needs
- Fill in for other Resident Assistants as needed
- Complete incident reports for residents, staff, visitors, or self as required
- Contact management for emergency situations as appropriate
- Answer phones promptly and courteously
- Participate in safety meetings, staff meetings, and in-services as scheduled
- Use proper body mechanics, personal protective equipment, and safety equipment
- Maintain confidentiality of residents and coworkers in accordance with privacy guidelines
- Comply with all applicable state regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
IN-CHARGE RESIDENT ASSISTANT ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
When assigned as In-Charge, the Resident Assistant will also:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for team members during the shift
- Act as a role model by demonstrating strong communication, problem-solving, professionalism, and resident-centered care
- Promote and model accountability, teamwork, and a positive work environment
- Maintain awareness of overall shift flow , assist with prioritizing resident needs, and support completion of care tasks
- Ensure accurate documentation , incident reporting, and effective shift-to-shift handoffs
- Communicate promptly and appropriately with on-call leadership regarding resident, staffing, building, or operational concerns
- Assist with securing staffing coverage for call-offs or unexpected absences by:
- Contacting available staff according to the coverage call list or scheduling protocol
- Utilizing scheduling systems as assigned
- Communicating progress and unresolved gaps to on-call leadership, Assisted Living Coordinator, Community Director, or Executive Director
- Ensuring all coverage attempts are documented per facility protocol
- Remain professional, calm, and solutions-oriented when managing call-ins or staffing challenges
- Assist with basic operational oversight, including supplies awareness, audits, and coordination of tasks per training
- Support interdepartmental communication and collaboration as needed
