    Job Description

    You are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our food & beverage experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding offerings makes guests feel unique and valued.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

    • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
    • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
    • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
    • Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Prepare station in anticipation of the day’s business.
    • Stock work areas with china, silver, glassware, linen, coffee pots, napkins and ensure that stock is clean and polished.
    • Check VIP list.
    • Clean work areas.
    • Set trays to standard.
    • Deliver orders on a timely basis.
    • Retrieve trays on a timely basis.
    • Ensure quality of food & beverage being delivered and communicate with Manager and Kitchen.
    • Prepare, set up, deliver and service amenities.
    • Replenish as needed.

    ** ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:**

    • Long hours sometimes may be required.
    • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
    • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
    • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
    • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
    • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
    • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and date, and basic arithmetic functions.
    • Good wine knowledge, knowledge of food handling and sanitation helpful.

    • High school diploma required and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
