    Exciting opportunity for Clinical Psychologist to join highly-regarded behavioral health team in Suburban Phoenix, AZ.

    Candidates must hold a degree in clinical psychology from a training program accredited by the American Psychological Association and must also be eligible for licensure in Arizona.

    The patient population is predominantly individuals who are court-ordered for psychiatric evaluations and/or treatment, with a focus on those dealing with serious mental illness.

    The psychologist's primary responsibilities will involve conducting psychological assessments of hospitalized inpatients, encompassing personality, cognitive, intellectual, and diagnostic testing. Additionally, the psychologist will be responsible for developing behavior plans for inpatients exhibiting behavior considered dangerous to themselves or others. Further responsibilities will be tailored based on the applicant's proficiency in psychological assessment, teaching experience, research, and personal interests. A minimum of one year of experience in an inpatient setting is required.

    Ideal candidates will possess a background in assessment, with a specific interest in assessment techniques and the ability to communicate findings effectively through written reports and oral feedback. Candidates should find satisfaction in collaborating with staff and patients to address behavioral challenges in a hospital setting. Desirable qualities for applicants include a genuine interest in working with the seriously mentally ill, a willingness to function in a consultative role, autonomy, motivation, and flexibility. The Psychiatry Department of this organization includes an accredited psychiatric residency training program, and interested faculty members are encouraged to participate in didactic instruction and supervision opportunities. The facility also serves as an affiliated training site for medical students from local teaching institutions, and staff engaged in student education are eligible for faculty appointments at these medical schools.
