Indaba Systems is a provider of ecommerce inventory management software, is currently seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Vancouver, WA. The Technical Support Specialist will work closely with our clients and internal staff on a wide range of technical support issues and projects, including supporting Indaba’s proprietary software, networking and Windows administration, installing and troubleshooting issues with SQL Server, installing and troubleshooting printer and hardware issues, and deploying and creating SQL Reports. The ideal candidate will be someone who takes the initiative to learn new skills, has strong troubleshooting abilities with a strong aptitude in written and verbal communication.
Our office is located in the Camas, WA area. Local applicants are preferred, however applicants working fully remote are welcome to apply. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Communicate with clients via email and phone to resolve technical problems in an efficient and courteous manner. • Document, track and monitor support issues to ensure a timely resolution. • Use Microsoft Excel to import and analyze data. • Install, manage and troubleshoot issues related to Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Jobs. • Setup SQL Server backups, investigate database performance issues, write and execute T-SQL queries. • Communicate positively and effectively with teammates and other Indaba departments to support clients and resolve client support issues. • Manage multiple tasks while maintaining overall goals for the department, Indaba quality standards, and timeline. • Develop FAQ’s and other support documentation that can be used by internal employees and clients. • Provide internal weekly reports to management; identify trends, reoccurring issues, and root problems. • Receives supervision and direction from department leader but, is able to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet individual goals and deadlines. • Identify and implement solutions to maximum efficiency of the Technical Support team. • May be required to be on-call and work some weekends
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT or related technology or engineering field preferred • 2+ years of experience working in a technical support position • Experience working with SQL Server, SQL Agent and SQL Reporting Services • Experiencing with database administration, including scheduling backups, SQL Profiler, Activity Monitor, managing SQL user security settings • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting networking, printer, and other hardware issues, managing Windows users and scheduled tasks. • Strong familiarity with Windows 7, 8, Server 2008, Server 2012, TCP/IP, IIS • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word • Client oriented and service minded • Must be able to retain new information quickly • Strong written and verbal communication • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Detail oriented • Experience in selling on marketplaces such as eBay and Amazon is a plus. WORKING TERMS & BENEFITS There will be a 3-6 month probation period. Pay will be DOE.
