    SUMMARY: The Spacecraft Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a diverse design team comprised of Systems Engineers working to execute and provide technical path forward for the entirety of the spacecraft and spacecraft support system. Responsibilities include planning and execution of all spacecraft systems design aspects of engineering projects, pursuits, and programs. The Spacecraft Systems Engineering Manager is also responsible for functional requirements of staffing (manpower/resource planning), recruiting, training, talent development, engagement, and retention of employees. The manager proactively collaborates with functional and business leadership teams to support business and program requirements. In this role the selected candidate will communicate with stakeholders within and outside of the organization including customers, vendors, executive leadership, and other engineering discipline managers; guide the design team with DFX continuous improvement projects; and oversee the execution of Earned Value (EVM) project execution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leads, organizes, and delegates to a team of spacecraft systems engineers and designers to accomplish complex system and subsystem design from concept through preliminary/detailed design, analysis, transition to production and qualification testing. • Proficiency with all aspects of spacecraft system design to include but not limited to power system sizing, command and data handling, RF systems, ADCS subsystems, payload integration, flight and ground software, industry standard test campaigns and spacecraft mission operations • Subject matter expert of design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for Cost (DFC) principles for complex electromechanical assemblies. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy. • Experience in the development of plans schedules and estimates with Earned Value Management techniques. • Experience with Department of Defense Specifications and Standards • Ability to develop proposal estimates with strong basis of justification. • Produces executive summaries and metrics for progress reporting and clearly communicate opportunities/focus areas. • Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and engage teams through innovation, collaboration, and mentorship initiatives. • Guides/creates design standards and engineering best practices. • Ability to work simultaneously on a variety of projects; possesses strong organization and prioritization skills. • Travel and work off-site at other locations may be required • Experience with DoD project execution and qualification testing. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum 9 years of relevant experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. • Proficiency with MS Office tools including experience with spreadsheets, Power Point presentations and MS Office • Strong writing, presentation, and oral communication skills. • To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Location/Onsite/Relocation: • Will require candidates to work onsite, may offer remote in the future but not at this time.
