    Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems Inc., a Terran Orbital company, is seeking an experienced GNC (Guidance Navigation & Controls) Software Engineer in our headquarters in Irvine, CA. In this role, the candidate will join a collaborative team to develop innovative satellite vehicle solutions for multiple projects. The GNC Software Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of analysis, software, hardware, test, integration, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test setups for real-time 6-DOF simulation of spacecraft for evaluation and testing of GNC algorithms

    Design emulators for spacecraft sensors, actuators and other hardware that run on real-time systems

    Build and run hardware unit test to validate integration with GNC code

    Work closely with both the GNC and FSW teams to integrate GNC algorithms into simple, reliable, and fault tolerant software

    Review on-orbit and simulation telemetry to identify software bugs and areas to improve GNC algorithms

    Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    BS in Aero, EE, CS or Mechatronics

    Demonstrated C/C++ programming experience

    Excellent at debugging both hardware and software issues

    Hands on experience with lab equipment (o-scope, multimeter, power supply, function generator, data acquisition systems, etc)

    Familiarity with communication protocols such as RS422, RS485, I2C, SPI, etc

    Experience with Linux

    Passion for the NewSpace industry

    To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

    ADDITIONAL DIFFERENTIATORS:

    Hands on experience with small satellites, robotic systems, or similar

    Theoretical understanding of spacecraft dynamics and controls

    Matlab/Simulink, Simulink Realtime, Autocoding

    Python/Bash/Javascrip

    GIT/SVN experience

    Ability to solder and make cables

    The comp range for these are going to be 110-185K plus equity equal valuation RSUs equal to base salary
