About the Role
As an Independent Vascular Access RN, you'll collaborate directly with our facility partners to troubleshoot, place, and manage vascular access devices. You'll function as both a clinical expert and a problem-solver, bringing precision and confidence to every patient interaction.
This is a mobile role, with visits dispatched based on region and facility needs. Nurses operate independently with mileage reimbursement and full clinical support.
Key Responsibilities
Place PICC lines, midlines, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs
Use ECG-based confirmation when required
Manage and troubleshoot vascular access devices (declotting, line removal, dressing changes, etc.)
Perform port access and de-access procedures
Document procedures and report findings to facility contacts and the Vellum team
Educate local staff when needed on CVAD maintenance and best practices
Maintain a high standard of independent clinical judgment while on-site
Ideal Candidate Profile
Active RN License in the state of Arkansas
1–3 years of recent PICC/midline/vascular access experience (no new grads)
Comfortable working independently in the field with mobile navigation tools
Confident with ultrasound-guided procedures
Holds current BLS certification
Valid Driver’s License + reliable personal vehicle
Able to complete documentation electronically via smartphone
Schedule & Flexibility
This is a PRN position:
Minimum of 4 shifts/month, including possible weekends
On-call coverage required (no separate standby pay; compensated for completed visits)
