    Job Description:

    OVERVIEW: The Staffing Coordinator for Nursing Services will be responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns for professional and nonprofessional nursing employees.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:• Establishes staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants• Works with human resources to advise them of staffing needs, terminations, and other information necessary for the smooth flow of work regarding employees• Interprets human resource policies for nursing staff• Participates in in-service training• Assists in securing staff for absences, leaves, etc., adjusting schedules as required• Maintains records on vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, excused and unexcused absences, and recommends appropriate action• Assists in administering the uniform policy for the facility• Works with the Director of Nursing to schedule training classes• Assist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process

    QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:• Must be string in Excel and Word)• Scheduling program (SmartLinx) experience preferred• Knowledge of AHCA Regulations required• Must possess sensitivity in understanding employees' needs while maintaining a sense of balance to ensure that staffing requirements are met for the facility.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT: • The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of patient conditions and elements. • The noise level is moderate to quiet. 

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job• This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center. • Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment. • Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.• Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day• The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 20 pounds• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
