Job Title: Industrial Custodian

Summary: Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Must be able to vacuum and buff floors, shampoo carpets, empty trash receptacles, and replace lining of trash cans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the day-to-day operations of the facility.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent personal injury and damage to floors and fixtures.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
• Steam clean or shampoo carpets.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
• Various maintenance duties include changing light bulbs in offices, inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency lights, filter press cleaning.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

Able to carry on tasks with minimal supervision. Lifting or pulling up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information

This position will require about 20% travel ability to service our other plant in the area.
