    Job Description

    The position of Industrial Design Product Specialist supports new product innovation, the product development ‘funnel’ and industrial design for projects that transfer to the central product engineering group in the form of technical drawings, material specs and managing product vendor partnerships, as well as manages process and projects for governance, alignment and continuous improvement of our Parent Portfolio of products. Additional scope includes merchandising design assistance, product ergonomic and usability studies, aesthetic and user-interface trend analysis. This person will create and execute design solutions for problems of form, function, marketing and portfolio development.

    This role will also need to meet internal creative standards, budgetary guidelines and specific business goals assigned to each project which will stretch the boundaries of design and range from logical problem solving for ease of design and installation to creative execution of thoughtful and original design concepts.

    This role is based in Jasper, IN, operating on a hybrid schedule requiring on-site presence 3 days per week. Relocation assistance may be considered.

    ** Responsibilities**

    • Lead design projects using effective, process-driven communication to deliver value-added products aligned with manufacturing capabilities

    • Define project-specific procedures while maintaining adherence to standard development processes

    • Build strategic relationships with external vendors and coordinate innovation efforts with internal stakeholders, including supply chain and sourcing

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery, within budget, and aligned with project scope

    • Develop and execute communication plans to ensure stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle

    • Maintain and track detailed project schedules and timelines to ensure successful product launches through governance and manufacturability alignment teams

    • Apply industry best practices and standards, considering the competitive landscape throughout execution

    • Design and coordinate compelling product presentations, including sketches, models, drawings, specifications, prototypes, and vendor documentation

    • Develop original design concepts and refine purchased parts for company use, ensuring consistency with brand standards

    • Incorporate feedback and iterate designs as necessary

    • Support product roadmap ideation and front-end design efforts including problem definition, brainstorming, visualization, and usage data collection

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Interior Design, Industrial Design or equivalent highly preferred.
    • 2+ years of work experience in design related field.
    • Fluent in Autodesk software with familiarity in 20/20 (Cyncly) Design or other kitchen design software.
    • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, AutoDesk Design Suite products (CAD, Inventor, 3DS Max and/or VRED).
    • Strong sense of design process, design thinking, creative applications and presentation layout
    • Strong familiarity with project management tools, methodologies and best practices
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time fro training, trade shows, industry events, etc.
    • Proven ability to see projects through the full lifecycle with a strong bias for action and meeting tight deadlines.
    • Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Strong communicator—timely, clear, and effective across written, verbal, and presentation formats
    • Collaborative team player with a creative mindset, capable of brainstorming, job sharing, and contributing to design extensions.
    • Proactive problem solver with strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, anticipating issues and proposing creative solutions.
