    Job Description:

    The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for building and installing electrical panels and field wiring for injection molding machines and other complex accessories that support our equipment. Additionally, he/she will maintain and repair electrical equipment and parts, such as control panels and hydraulic / pneumatic / robotic systems. This position requires extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. He/she must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.

    The work of an Industrial Electrician can often be physically demanding. In order to install and repair equipment, the Industrial Electrician may need to crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods of time. He/she must also be able to operate tools in close proximity to electrical components.

    Industrial Electricians must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as schematics, diagrams, or instructions. He/she must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position.

    Responsibilities:

    Work from schematics, diagrams, or instructions to build / wire machines and panels

    Knowledge of high and low voltage components – 480VAC, 277VAC, 120VAC and 24VDC, 5VCD

    Installing panels on machinery and performing interconnecting field wiring to other electrical / electronic components of complex machinery

    Bend and install conduit and fittings throughout the machinery

    · Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment

    Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes

    Red line and update electrical drawings per the as-built

    Make decisions based on technical documents

    Perform quality testing and inspections prior to, during, and after startup of the machinery

    Education Requirements:

    High School Diploma required

    Journeyman experience or the completion of an apprenticeship program or two to three years of hands-on experience in electromechanical field is a plus

    Associate's degree in electrical/electronic/industrial systems technology preferred

    Desired Background/Skills:

    Experience working with various types of electrical devices preferred.

    Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and other technical documents

    Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment

    Awareness of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations

    Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions

    Qualifications:

    Experience in schematic and blueprint reading along with troubleshooting skills

    Familiarity with parts and components of complex machinery and motors, as well as the tools used to repair them

    Previous experience in a manufacturing / industrial equipment setting

    Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems a plus

    Strong mechanical aptitude

    Other Information:

    Must be willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lift heavy objects, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.

    Must have own basic electricians’ tools

    Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screening
