  • Responsibilities

    Our client, a Tier 1 automotive supplier, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join their team at a new facility in Greenville, SC. This is a high-impact role, serving as a key link between engineering and production while driving process efficiency and continuous improvement across the plant. 

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure adherence to established engineering and operational standards

    • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for both new product introduction and ongoing production in collaboration with the engineering team

    • Support the sourcing and implementation of production equipment

    • Design and improve machine and plant layouts based on operational requirements and efficiency goals

    • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives across the production environment

    • Contribute to improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) at the work-center level to meet performance targets

    • Coordinate and support modifications and upgrades to production equipment

    • Manage activities related to equipment relocation, disposal, resale, or decommissioning

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field

    • 3+ years of experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

    • Automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing experience preferred

    • Experience working cross-functionally with production, quality, and maintenance teams

    • Strong background in process optimization, line balancing, and Continuous Improvement (Lean, Kaizen, 5S)

    • Understanding of OEE, KPIs, and production performance metrics

    • Experience supporting pre-series and series production / new launches

    • Familiarity with plant layouts, material flow, and equipment implementation

    • SAP or ERP system experience preferred

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
