    INTERNSHIP SUMMARY:

    ATS is looking for a summer intern to support our Industrial Operations team with engineering and project startup for PLC & HMI/SCADA solutions for Industrial markets (e.g. Data Centers, Power Generation, Manufacturing, Transportation). As an intern, you will be exposed to many aspects of the project lifecycle through targeted mentorship, including design, programming, testing and commissioning.

    This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about the many facets of a career in Industrial automation and build on education with experience on direct-to-customer projects in a mentor oriented experience. These practical experiences are supported by opportunities to participate in formal training courses, sessions with guest speakers from across all of ATS, and to form lasting professional ties within the industry.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    |

    • Work as part of a project team to support Engineers and Technicians with crucial project tasks
    • Support engineering team by updating drawing sets and wiring diagrams
    • Support project programming on Industrial-specific topics such as IEC-61131 programming, HMI/SCADA development
    • Support HMI/SCADA development and field testing, including using software to create data trendlogs, fault detection alarms, functional systems schedules, and more
    • Assist with functional testing of electro-mechanical equipment on project sites including checkout and startup
    • Learn how to safely and accurately conduct quality control checks on newly installed systems

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or similar preferred)
    • Basic understanding or exposure to electrical concepts preferred
    • Experience working on a team
    • Experience using some form of drafting software preferred but not required
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently to follow project objectives and meet deadlines in a professional environment
    • Punctuality and professional demeanor required
    • Must be over 18-years of age in order to participate in on-site training opportunities
    • Pay ranges from $21-$30 per hour depending on experience

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    This is a hybrid office and field position in the greater Seattle area, with presence required at our Renton headquarters. Travel to local project sites is required and mileage expenses are reimbursed.

    This position often requires physical work at a project jobsite, spending time on your feet. Project jobsites present typical construction and outdoor conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment for safety purposes. Lifting and exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally. Small repetitive motions and use of small tools, including computers and peripherals.

    • Pay ranges from $21-$30 per hour depending on experience

    POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:

    • Temporary position beginning June 2026 with flexible start and end-dates
    • Full-time work schedule is preferred
    • Monday – Friday 8am-5pm typical
