Industrial Hygienist

Core Responsibilities
• Inspect and evaluate construction sites for chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic hazards.
• Conduct air, noise, and material sampling to assess worker exposure to harmful agents.
• Develop and implement health and safety programs tailored to construction environments.
• Train workers on hazard recognition, PPE usage, and safe work practices.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Maintain records of inspections, sampling results, and safety recommendations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
• Strong grasp of industrial processes and construction-specific hazards.
• Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment, and use of monitoring equipment.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for training and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with safety teams and site managers.
Education & Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related science.
• Preferred certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST).
• Ongoing training in hazardous materials handling, ventilation systems, and emergency response protocols.
Construction-Specific Focus
• Addressing hazards like silica dust, asbestos, lead, and noise pollution.
• Evaluating ventilation, confined spaces, and fall protection systems.
• Collaborating with engineers and project managers to design safer workflows
