Snack Innovations is a fast-growing consumer packaged goods company behind Drizzilicious, Natural Endurance, Smart Fries, and Sunday Snacks. At our Piscataway, NJ facility, we produce snack products across fully automated production and packaging lines.
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic who understands food manufacturing and packaging equipment, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in keeping production running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who can troubleshoot issues, repair equipment, support operators, and work with urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As we expand our facility and grow our team, we have immediate openings across day, evening, and overnight shifts.
THE OPPORTUNITY As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems across food processing, packaging, and material handling equipment. Your work directly impacts uptime, product quality, reliability, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair food manufacturing, packaging, and material handling equipment, including baking and popcorn machinery, oil delivery systems, seasoning systems, chocolate drizzle/enrobing components, sifters, conveyors, hoppers, VFFS baggers, cartoners, air compressors, pumps, and related equipment
Troubleshoot and repair electrical devices and components, including transformers, relays, circuit breakers, starters, safety switches, limit switches, AC/DC motors, and related controls
Perform preventative maintenance according to checklists, schedules, safety procedures, and equipment requirements
Respond to equipment issues quickly and help reduce downtime
Maintain accurate service, repair, and parts-related records
Assist with spare parts inventory and communicate reordering needs
Train and support production operators on equipment operation, safety, efficiency, and best practices
Work cooperatively with production, quality, sanitation, warehouse, and operations teams
Follow safety practices, food manufacturing standards, quality requirements, and regulatory expectations
WHAT YOU BRING
Minimum of 5 years of experience repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining food processing, packaging, or related manufacturing equipment
Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Knowledge of AC/DC motors and wiring, single-phase and three-phase voltage, relays, starters, circuit breakers, sensors, switches, pumps, and related electrical components
Experience with variable frequency drives, instrumentation, sensor calibration, pneumatics, and hydraulics
Ability to troubleshoot quickly in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to follow instructions, PM checklists, safety procedures, equipment manuals, and work assignments
Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and written/verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic maintenance, documentation, or inventory systems
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, weekends, overtime, or alternate shifts as needed
Ability to work in cold environments, confined spaces, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds
Strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and teamwork
Bilingual ability is a plus
WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME? Base Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour based on experience and skill Additional Compensation: Overtime (1.5x hourly rate) over 40hrs; generous shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts Benefits include: medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k), and paid holidays.
