Maintenance Technician – Steel Processing Equipment

Location: Madison Heights (14 Mile and Stephens)
Job Type: Full-Time | Pay: $20.00 – $28.70 per hour (based on experience)

Job Summary:

We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support our steel processing operations through equipment repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This is a hands-on, full-time position requiring physical stamina and strong mechanical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on industrial machinery and steel processing equipment

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems

• Work with cranes, forklifts, draw machines, annealing furnaces, and gas generators

• Conduct welding, fabrication, and installation tasks as needed

• Perform diesel and forklift maintenance and repair

• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities

• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance or mechanic experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

• Experience with industrial equipment (cranes, forklifts, furnaces, etc.)

• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required

• Must be able to stand, walk, and lift throughout the shift

• Willingness to work 3rd shift (10pm–6am) after training on 1st shift (6am–2pm)

• Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly wage: $23.00–$28.00/hour, based on experience

• $0.50 raises every 90 days up to $28.70

• Overtime available and required

Schedule:

• Training: 1st shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

• Permanent: 3rd shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

• Must be available for periodic 10-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays
