Maintenance Technician I – Day Shift
Location: Tolleson, AZ
Shift: Day Shift | 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician I to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding blow molds and related tooling to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on maintenance experience, and the ability to troubleshoot production equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Mold & Tooling Maintenance
- Perform maintenance, cleaning, repairs, and rebuilds on blow molds and related tooling
- Troubleshoot mold-related issues and coordinate outside repairs when necessary
- Maintain tooling logbooks and documentation for mold usage, rebuilds, and lifecycle tracking
- Rebuild lane dividers and associated components
- Maintain mold shop organization and proper spare parts inventory
Equipment & Preventive Maintenance
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities on blow molding and production equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Repair and maintain production machinery and plant equipment
- Perform emergency repairs during production operations
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and technical documents
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, electric meters, grinders, lathes, and milling equipment
Production Support
- Assist production teams with blow mold changeovers and equipment setup
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department
- Train and assist production employees on proper equipment operation and maintenance practices
- Provide coverage for maintenance team members during absences as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Maintain compliance with company policies, GMP standards, and safety regulations
- Monitor equipment performance to help ensure product quality and production efficiency
- Report unsafe conditions, faulty equipment, or unusual situations to leadership
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of blow mold or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
- Welding experience required
- Experience operating lathes, mills, and grinders
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, and industrial tools
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work in a fast-paced setting
- Limited travel may occasionally be required
