Industrial Maintenance Technology Instructor:
Provides instruction and training related to Industrial Maintenance technicians. Will provide instruction to students to test, service, and repair electronic and mechanical equipment used in a variety of industries. Topics covered in this program include electrical principles, PLC, motor controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, industrial troubleshooting. This position assists in the development and modification of curriculum as necessary; assists in the strategic planning for the Industrial Technology Department. The Grayson College Industrial Maintenance Technician program offers a level one certificate and national certifications recognized by industry.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
65% Teaches at least 15 SCH of industrial maintenance courses per traditional long semester (Fall/Spring and Summer) for credit and noncredit students to include electrical applications, programmable logic controls, motors and controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, troubleshooting; meets classes as assigned and provides assistance to students outside of class. Opportunities exist to teach in other campus programs like Advanced Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering Technology as warranted. Evening and weekend work may occasionally be assigned.
10% Works as team member in the Industrial Technology Department; develops and implements a program of instruction that meets the needs of the students as well as area businesses; adheres to national/state regulations; teaches to the needs of industrial maintenance and manufacturing; complies with the ‘faculty responsibilities’ as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the College’s Policy and Procedure Manual; develops and updates curriculum and measure student learning outcomes as needed to meet THECB Exemplary Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
10% Develops and updates curriculum, participates in committees, and assists in registering, advising, and recruiting of students. Manages program and grant budgets, reporting, etc.
10% Contributes to the campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements. Participates in College committees. Assists in registration, advisement, and recruiting of students.
5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: 3 years industry experience required, 5 years preferred. Previous successful experience teaching in a high school, university and/or community college preferred.
Education: Associate degree in the discipline or an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution, and a demonstration of competency in the teaching discipline. Acceptable method to demonstrate competency in the discipline must include one of the following: Earned Certificate Degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution and three years of documented non-teaching work experience in the discipline, or an occupational license in the discipline issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, or by a recognized reciprocal entity, that allows the person to perform work in the discipline within the State of Texas.
Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process and proven commitment to student success. Collegial attitude with the college community as well as outside entities. Cooperative attitude and excellent team skills.
Other Skills: Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments. Experience tracking student learning outcomes, analyzing resultant data, and implementing improvement plans. Excellent computer and multimedia skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements: TThe work is typically walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, etc.
Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a typical office and/or industrial lab setting.
