Position Overview
The Industrial Pipe Fitter is responsible for the layout, fabrication, installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial piping systems. This role requires strong technical skill, the ability to read and interpret complex drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
Install, assemble, fabricate, and maintain industrial piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and specialty piping
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and weld pipe according to specifications
Read and interpret isometric drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs
Perform system testing, pressure testing, and inspections to ensure proper operation
Diagnose and repair piping system failures, leaks, and flow issues
Ensure proper alignment, supports, and hangers are installed per code and design
Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems and materials
Proficiency with pipe fitting tools, welding equipment, threading machines, and measuring instruments
Ability to work independently or as part of a crew
Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
Clear communication with supervisors, coworkers, and project managers
Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship
Experience with Build Ops construction software a plus
Safety & Quality
Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite requirements
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
Uphold company quality standards and craftsmanship expectations
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Trade school, apprenticeship, or formal pipe fitting training (preferred)
Minimum 3 -5 years of industrial or commercial pipe fitting experience
Certifications & Licenses
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred)
Welding certifications (SMAW, GTAW, MIG) preferred
NCCER Pipe Fitter Certification (preferred)
Valid Driver’s License (required)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift heavy pipe, tools, and equipment
Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and industrial environments
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and work for extended periods
Ability to work under any outdoor conditions when needed
