Major multinational manufacturer of thermoplastic piping systems and instrumentation serving the microelectronics, water treatment, chemical processing, food and beverage, and life sciences market segments is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our engineering group as a Product Design Engineer. Your Tasks
- Responsible for the creation of new polyethylene plastic pipe fitting designs along with the appropriate ancillary installation equipment
- Oversee the product life cycle management of existing products
- Perform Flow Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for fitting design and/or customer applications
- Create detailed product drawings using GD&T
- Create and maintain engineering product specifications
- Provide feasibility studies and costing estimates for new products
- Be the project manager or contributing member of applicable new product development projects
- Provide timely engineering support to Production, Product Management, and Sales as required
- Work closely with Product Management to review the existing product portfolio to identify and implement cost reduction and performance enhancement opportunities
- Participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product quality issues
Your Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, design engineering, computer modeling, or other utility-related area, preferred
- Proficient in SolidWorks or similar CAD software to develop models and drawings
- Ability to identify patterns or trends within data
- Ability to understand and create complex plans or diagrams (e.g. blue prints)
- Prior experience in piping design and/or field experience with piping systems is desirable
- Prior experience with the injection molding of plastics is desirable
- Project management experience
- Self-starter/Acts on own initiative making decisions after a thorough evaluation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
