    Salary

    $25-30/hour depending on experience. This is an on-site job that offers a variable work schedule, medical and dental benefits, paid vacation, holiday, sick time, and profit sharing through 401k.

    CLIENT is a custom blow mold manufacturer located in Fairfield, Iowa. They serve the following industries: automotive, agriculture, lawn & garden, medical equipment, power sport, and construction.

    About the role

    This role is integral in producing high-quality molds to our customer’s standards. You will build, repair, and modify all types and sizes of blow molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling to extremely tight tolerances and time frames.

    Responsibilities

    • Setting up and operating equipment such lathes, grinders, milling machines, radial drill presses.
    • Makes components per print and holds close tolerances where needed.
    • Disassembles and assembles molds using hand tools.
    • Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfections or damage that may affect the functionality.
    • Studies blueprints of products and molds to affect construction or repair of components applying knowledge of shop mathematics.
    • Performs close tolerance measurements of mold components utilizing measuring devices such as gauge pins, micrometer, calipers, or other related equipment.
    • Regularly tests all equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.

    Candidate Requirements

    • 5 years minimum experience in toolmaking / manufacturing environment preferred.
    • Accredited journeyman background preferred but not required.

    • Read/Interpret Blueprints: 5 years (required)
    • Precision measuring instruments: 5 years (Required)
    • Computer skills: 5 years (Required)
    • Program/Utilize CNC Equipment: 5 years (Required)
    • CAD: 5 years (Required)
    • Computer skills: 5 years (Required)
    • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
