This role manages construction from bid through closeout while leading field teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery. The position is based in Lenexa with 15-20% regional travel to industrial jobsites.

Key Responsibilities — Industrial Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)
- Manage mechanical construction projects or assist senior leadership on large-scale industrial builds including manufacturing plants, chemical facilities, and processing operations
- Oversee field staff performance, subcontractor coordination, vendor compliance, and project documentation from preconstruction through closeout
- Monitor project accounting, profitability, budgets, and scheduling to ensure delivery within financial parameters
- Maintain constructive relationships with clients, inspectors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams through clear communication
- Lead teams according to company operating principles while ensuring safety, statutory, and contractual compliance on all projects
Qualifications — Industrial Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical construction project management experience on industrial projects directly overseeing mechanical work in sectors such as chemical, food and beverage, automotive, oil and gas refining, or complex manufacturing
- High school diploma or GED required plus one of the following: Bachelor's degree in construction or mechanical engineering, or 5+ years mechanical field trade experience, or equivalent combination
- Valid driver's license with clean motor vehicle record; must meet company requirements to operate vehicles on business
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen
- Strong knowledge of contract documents, budgets, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance in industrial construction environments
Preferred Qualifications — Mechanical Construction Project Manager
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction management software platforms
- Knowledge of industrial building codes, OSHA regulations, and mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process equipment
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials
- Proven track record managing multi-million dollar mechanical construction projects in industrial settings
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse field crews and multiple subcontractors simultaneously
Physical Requirements — Industrial Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)
- Frequent site visits to active industrial construction projects requiring walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally for project materials and documentation
- Work in industrial construction environments including manufacturing plants, chemical facilities, and outdoor jobsites with exposure to weather conditions
- Travel 15-20% regionally to assigned jobsites and company offices as project needs require
- Standard office work with extended periods of computer use for project planning, documentation, and communication
