Job Description:

• Implements, manages, and monitors safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.
• Evaluates the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions.
• Ensures the organization complies with all current safety regulations, that all employees are aware of safety requirements, and work with department heads to ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Investigates and collects data on all safety and accident events.
• Coordinates workers’ compensation claims.
• Oversees fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, and other safety related activities.
• Understand the role of regulations and procedures in industrial safety programs and be able to read, write and revise procedures as required.
• Perform any other related safety tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial safety role.
• Must have excellent documentation skills and communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and require little or no management guidance.
• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent formal training is preferred.
