Take Your Technical Skills on the Road

If you’re the kind of person who would rather be out in the field solving problems than sitting behind the same desk every day, this could be a great next step.

Our client is a growing national organization looking for an Industrial Service Technician to support industrial and commercial customers across the United States.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical position combining equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair, training, and field service. Approximately 50% of your time will involve travel, giving you the opportunity to work with different customers, facilities, equipment, and teams throughout the country.

You’ll have a high level of independence in the field, while still having the resources and support of a large national organization behind you.

    Compensation & Travel Package

Our client understands that a role with significant travel needs to come with the right support and resources.

    • $60,000–$70,000 base salary
    • Company vehicle provided
    • Company-paid fuel and vehicle expenses
    • Travel expenses covered by the company
    • Hotels and lodging covered during business travel
    • Approximately 50% travel throughout the United States
    • Health, Dental, and Vision coverage
    • 401(k) with Company Match
    • Paid Time Off
    • Training and professional development
    • Long-term career growth within a nationwide organization

    What You’ll Be Doing

This isn't a position where every day looks the same.

You’ll work directly with customers, technicians, sales teams, branches, and vendor partners to make sure industrial equipment is installed correctly, operating properly, and supported when problems arise.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Travel to customer and branch locations throughout the United States to install, service, troubleshoot, and support equipment
    • Coordinate equipment installations and service calls for vendor and customer accounts
    • Troubleshoot and repair packaging, warehouse, fastening, and industrial equipment
    • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
    • Coordinate communication between sales, production, technicians, customers, vendors, and internal service teams
    • Train customers and end users on proper equipment operation and basic service procedures
    • Train and support other Service Technicians working with industrial accounts
    • Assist sales teams with the onboarding and implementation of national and industrial customers
    • Participate in technical training alongside internal service teams and vendor partners
    • Help identify additional service opportunities within existing customer operations
    • Represent our client professionally while working directly inside customer facilities

What Our Client Is Looking For

You don’t need to come from one exact industry. Our client is looking for someone who understands industrial equipment, knows how to troubleshoot problems, and is comfortable working independently in the field.

    Ideally, you bring:

    • 3–5 years of hands-on industrial service, maintenance, equipment repair, or field service experience
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar industrial equipment
    • Experience working with pneumatic fastening tools or related equipment
    • Strong understanding of electrical control systems and industrial mechanical systems
    • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
    • Experience supporting industrial, commercial, or national customer accounts
    • Confidence communicating directly with customers, vendors, sales representatives, and technicians
    • Ability to independently organize service visits and travel
    • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
    • Ability to regularly lift and move equipment weighing more than 50 lbs.
    • Ability to work in manufacturing, warehouse, and industrial environments that may include temperature extremes

    Even Better If You Have

Experience in any of the following would be a plus:

    • PLC or automation troubleshooting
    • Packaging equipment
    • Warehouse equipment
    • Industrial fastening systems
    • Manufacturing equipment
    • Electrical or mechanical maintenance
    • Field service
    • Technical training
    • Service leadership or management
    • Tool, fastener, construction supply, or industrial distribution
    • Forklift certification
    • Technical schooling, apprenticeship, or related certifications
    • Bilingual communication skills

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

This opportunity is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys being trusted to get the job done.

You should be comfortable getting on the road, walking into a customer facility, assessing a problem, communicating with the people involved, and figuring out the best solution.

You’ll probably enjoy this position if you:

    • Like working independently
    • Enjoy traveling and seeing different facilities and operations
    • Prefer variety over doing the same thing every day
    • Like troubleshooting mechanical and electrical problems
    • Are comfortable working directly with customers
    • Enjoy teaching others how equipment works
    • Take pride in solving problems correctly the first time
    • Want the stability and career opportunities of a national organization without being stuck behind a desk

A Career With Room to Grow

This is more than a traditional repair technician position.

You’ll gain exposure to customers, equipment, service operations, technicians, sales teams, and branches throughout a nationwide organization. For someone who wants to continue developing technically while building toward greater responsibility in service leadership, technical operations, training, or account support, there is significant room to grow.

If you’re looking for a hands-on technical career that gets you out into the field, gives you independence, and lets you work with customers and equipment across the country, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

If this sounds like the right opportunity for you send a resume to bmcivor@talentsphere.ca or confidentially call me at 469 498 2002 ext 748. I look forward to speaking with you.
