Montessori Kids Universe Louisville is looking for an Infant teacher. The Montessori Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a nurturing, respectful, and stimulating environment that upholds the Montessori philosophy and the goals of the school. The Lead Teacher guides children’s learning experiences by planning and implementing lessons, preparing the environment, supervising staff, maintaining parent communication, and ensuring the safety and well-being of each child.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Teaching & Curriculum Implementation a. Treat each child with dignity and respect. b. Plan and deliver Montessori lessons sequentially and developmentally appropriate. c. Encourage growth in emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development. d. Recognize and consider each child’s cultural, socio-economic, and individual learning needs. e. Deliver lessons to promote coordination, concentration, independence, and order. f. Plan individualized curriculum weekly for each student, including MKU Enrichments and Da Vinci Kids curriculum.
Prepared Environment a. Maintain a safe, organized, and appealing classroom. b. Prepare materials daily and rotate them based on student needs. c. Promote positive discipline and mutual respect among students. d. Maintain a normalized classroom environment.
Communication & Parent Engagement a. Communicate clearly in verbal and written form. b. Prepare and distribute a monthly parent newsletter. c. Communicate daily with parents using the ProCare Engagement App. d. Plan and conduct parent conferences; maintain child development records.
Staff Supervision & Collaboration a. Supervise Assistant Teachers and delegate tasks appropriately. b. Ensure staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times. c. Work collaboratively with staff and the Administrative Team. d. Share information and materials appropriately with colleagues.
School Operations & Professionalism a. Report to administration regarding needed repairs, replacements, or maintenance. b. Attend all staff meetings and school-sponsored programs. c. Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families. d. Maintain professional conduct when interacting with parents, staff, visitors, and the community. e. Uphold all school policies and maintain required records.
Professional Growth a. Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and professional organizations. b. Stay current with Montessori best practices and child development research. c. Be open to supervision, feedback, and continued learning.
Safety & Emergency Preparedness a. Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification. b. Be capable of communicating with emergency personnel. c. Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of each child in the group.
Other Duties a. Perform related tasks as requested by the Administrative Team.
General Expectations:

Participate in all training opportunities scheduled by Montessori Kids Universe.

Be able to sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and move easily to interact with children at their level.
Use technology effectively, including computers and classroom apps.
Multitask effectively (answer phones, manage paperwork, research information, etc.).
Maintain focus and concentration on tasks.
Lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
Remain alert and attentive throughout the workday.
