The Infant Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, loving, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months). This role includes planning and implementing daily routines, fostering nurturing relationships, and ensuring that all developmental needs of each child are met in alignment with Christian values and the mission of Lititz Christian School.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Leadership:
Create a warm, responsive, and loving classroom atmosphere grounded in Christ-centered care.
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and spiritual development.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment in accordance with state licensing and Keystone STARS standards.
Child Development:
Monitor developmental milestones and maintain accurate records of each child’s progress.
Engage infants in activities that promote sensory exploration, language development, and motor skills.
Attend to the individual needs of each child, including feeding, diapering, and comforting.
Parent Communication:
Build strong partnerships with families by providing daily updates, progress reports, and supportive communication.
Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed and share developmental observations.
Team Collaboration:
Support assistant teachers and floaters in the classroom.
Collaborate with other teaching staff and administration to uphold the mission and values of the school.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all state regulations, health and safety guidelines, and school policies.
Complete required documentation and incident reports in a timely and thorough manner.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in Early Childhood Educationi (or related field) or higher.Desired 2 years of experience in the field or related field.
Must successfully pass all background checks including fingerprint and reference checks.
Minimum of 2500 hours of childcare experience or equivalent education courses completed.
