    ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW - THIS POSITION IS WORKING FOR THE SOCIETY FOR HEALTHCARE EPIDEMIOLOGY OF AMERICA (SHEA) WWW.SHEA-ONLINE.ORG

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Under the supervision of the SHEA Executive Director, this position is accountable for the administration, coordination and planning of activities for the Board of Directors and volunteers. 

    FLSA CLASSIFICATION - Non-exempt

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    VOLUNTEER COORDINATION

    • Prepares and disseminates meeting materials for SHEA-board and committee meetings throughout the year digitally, including Board meetings and new Board member orientation
    • Coordinates volunteer onboarding and volunteer thank you
    • Coordinates the annual ‘Call for Volunteers’, Nominations, and Elections processes

    GOVERNANCE COORDINATION

    • Coordinates schedule for Board and governance-related committee meetings
    • Responsible for working with Executive Director as staff liaison to the Nominations Committee and the COI Committee
    • Collaborates with team members to prepare and submit grants and work with outside partners, including in support of educational programming
    • Assists in the management of the conflict of interest disclosure collection and review
    • Drafts minutes of SHEA Board of Trustees & SHEA Education and Research Foundation Board meetings
    • Assists Executive Director with SHEA Education & Research Foundation Board activities
    • Develops, edits, and maintains record of SHEA correspondence, governance documents, and Board proceedings

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree desired or equivalent skills, knowledge, and experience to perform essential responsibilities

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Data entry and data management
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
    • Detail-oriented and able to meet and manage multiple deadlines
    • Self-starter who is willing to tackle new challenges
    • Team player who is eager to work in a small office environment
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Excel and related Microsoft Office products
    • Excellent writing, oral communication, and customer service skills Capable in managing office processes

     

    TRAVEL

    Travel required as necessary (less than 5%) to fulfill the duties relating to programs of SHEA.
