    Are you a passionate design or architecture student looking to branch out with your skills? We are looking for an intern to work on a large scale regenerative community project. The position will involve working in a startup development company to help with site planning, individual building designs, executing renderings, mockups, models, and floor plans of the designs. The project involves a 14 acre undeveloped parcel in a tropical ecosystem, where a sustainable community development project will be executed from design through to construction. The position will also allow you to be involved with the process as we coordinate with site surveyors/planners, execute geological/topographical studies, and discuss feasibility, implementation details, and cost structuring with contractors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the development of our designs through sketches, physical models, digital models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats
    • Utilize BIM technologies in development of three dimensional models of buildings and their components 
    • Participate in design critiques and process evolution, as well being involved with the architectural frameworks we're developing 
    • Involved with understanding relevant building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies
    • Draft site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, for the designs
    • Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, contractors and subcontractors
    • Create/share potential sustainable design principles into the building design and surrounding environment

    Skills:

    • Understanding of industry standard design and modeling softwares, AutoCad/Vectorworks, Revit, 3DSMax/Maya (bonus), 3D Modeling software/Sketchup, Twin Motion, Rendering capabilities. Solid proficiency with Photoshop/InDesign an asset
    • Basic understanding architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
    • Ability to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with building program
    • Ability to develop floor plans, wall sections, and details
    • You check your own work for accuracy and completeness and manage your time to meet the project budget and schedule
    • High energy, innovative thinking and a dynamic approach to design and planning
    • You'll actively engage in creative and critical thought and will communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively

    Education and Experience:

    • At least two/three years of schooling in architecture or design
