Job Description

The Simulation Facility is a full featured, airliner cockpit simulator that is used to support Headup Display product development and testing, the development of flight guidance software together with marketing demonstrations and pilot & engineering training. While primarily a software focused position, a simulation engineer can expect to be immersed in all aspects of the simulator, including: •Simulation software, device drivers and emulation •Mechanical controls •Modeling of aircraft platforms and the external environment •Digital avionics interfaces Simulation Engineer duties will include: •Assist in the day-to-day running of the Simulation Facility ensuring the availability of the lab. •Development of new or the modification of existing simulation software to support new products or variants •Integration of next generation Headup Display and avionics products to allow Sim based testing REQUIRED: -4 year degree in an applicable STEM field •5 years avionics systems or flight controls development experience in either a software or electrical/avionics/embedded systems engineering role •2-5 years C or C++ software engineering experience •A minimum 2 years civil aerospace experience, preferably passenger transport or business jet domains •A minimum 2 years aircraft or environment simulation development experience The above may run concurrently. PREFERRED: •Experience in ARINC databuses including ARINC429/664 and 818 •Modelling e.g. Matlab, Real-Time Workshop, Simulink -Avionics background, specifically with flight deck experience •Previous flying experience is beneficial
