    We are seeking a Wood Framing Construction Estimator to work in our self-perform framing division. The right candidate will have a proven record of accurately identifying cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses relevant to hotel and multi-family wood framing construction. Necessary experience of at least 5 to 10 years wood-framing construction, production, and estimating.

    Required Skills

    Experience with Microsoft Excel and ProEst software is preferred

    Working knowledge of BIM/REVIT and/or CAD

    Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the Construction Industry through a list of projects and references

    Must be able to read, understand and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules for constructability and conflict reviews.

    Must have advanced knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.

    Strong working knowledge of the local construction industry

    Expertise in bidding construction work for private and public improvements.

    Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management is preferred

    Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

    Must have a valid driver’s license

    Must live in the Phoenix Metro area. Relocation assistance is not available.

    Responsibilities

    Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

    Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.

    Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

    Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.

    Consult with clients, vendors, project managers, and superintendents to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

    Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates and in resolving constructability issues

    Secure material and subcontract costs economically and expeditiously

    Work with project managers and superintendents for efficient coordination of field and office activities including job scheduling activities and subcontractor relationships

    Maintain an up-to-date file or library of material suppliers, current labor laws, equipment rental rates, and qualified subcontractors by category.

    Study and understand the contract documents of each project including provisions of the general or special conditions, for ambiguity or conflicts that may result in unforeseen costs.

    Investigate conditions at the jobsite prior to bid to understand and evaluate site accessibility, surface and underground conditions and any condition that would affect construction methods and costs.

    Estimate accurately each job and review the estimate with Executive Management in sufficient time to permit careful analysis, checking of calculations, and corrections as necessary.

    Secure major materials for work awarded at the most competitive price early enough to ensure timely delivery of materials and performance of subcontracts.
