Job Description:
The DevOps Engineer will be intimately knowledgeable and engaged in all aspects of the agile development process, from software to systems development. He or she will be involved with complex tasks and projects such as creating new technical solutions to persistent web development problems. Depending on the level of the position, he or she could also be working with company clients and internal IT staff to analyze web system needs and goals, devising potential solutions. A strong knowledge of Java and AngularJS frameworks is essential, along with an ability to work within systems such as Amazon. Unix and Linux experience is also needed. The DevOps developer will work across departments to design systems solutions. Often, he or she will work with senior C-suite executives on projects.
Job Responsibilities:
The DevOps engineer will assist with the development, design and implementation of web systems for the company and the operation and integration of systems into existing infrastructure
The DevOps engineer will work closely with clients, IT professionals and C-suite executives to determine web and infrastructure needs for the business
The DevOps engineer will have operational knowledge of frameworks such as Java and AngularJS and be able to incorporate these into systems development
The DevOps engineer will have a strong knowledge of the entire agile development process
He or she will also keep abreast of new systems requirements and developments, resolving compatibility issues as they arise
The DevOps engineer will adjust to changes in the company’s missions and strategies
Skills and education
A bachelor’s degree in computer science is desirable
Previous experience in systems development and operation is required
A knowledge of all current and emerging operating systems is imperative
The ability to function across departments, processing input and devising solutions is necessary
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely is a must
Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills are needed
An intimate knowledge of design software and new design trends is important
