_ This is a hybrid role out of the Phoenix, AZ office. Candidate must reside in the Greater Phoenix area to be considered for the role._

What we’re looking for: A savvy and enterprising journalist would be ideal for this position. While it doesn’t require an extensive knowledge of the food and beverage industry, the candidate should have some familiarity of it as well as the enthusiasm to learn about it. Required is an impeccable writing background with excellent researching, editing and interviewing skills.

The candidate should be prepared to take on regular writing assignments, from profiles to long-form articles to breaking-news stories. This role requires attention to detail, strict adherence to due dates, great communication skills, and working as part of a team. The person in this role should be self-motivated, curious, understanding of change, and ready to learn.

Role Accountability and Duties :

Main job duties

• Produce steady flow of content for the Food & Beverage Insider website
• Work with Food & Beverage Insider team to establish clear communication about content and due dates
• Ensure Food & Beverage Insider’s social media platforms engage with F&B community
• Research industry news to stay on top of current events
• Assist Food & Beverage Insider team with assets (statistics, interviews, images, etc.) for contributed articles
• Create charts, videos, audio and other assets related to content for the site

Objectives of this Role

Content Development and Execution

• Collaborate with Food & Beverage Insider editorial team to decide topics for content to ensure info is timely and relevant.
• Research independently market trends and other relevant topics for future content creation
• Grow audience of Food & Beverage Insider’s social media platforms by posting engaging—and as much as possible—interactive content

Communication

• Work with Food & Beverage Insider team to ensure online articles are relevant and not redundant
• Learn Food & Beverage Insider’s Google doc system
• Communicate with Food & Beverage Insider content director about progress and issues

What you bring to the team :

• Communication: Able to communicate efficiently and clearly
• Diligent/Persistent: Diligence for executing on a due date with the ability to schedule in advance; persistence in gathering required information
• Creativity: Keep an eye toward new ways to promote and execute content

Qualifications

• _ This is a hybrid role out of the Phoenix, AZ office. Candidate must reside in the Greater Phoenix area to be considered for the role._
• At least 3 years of experience in journalism and reporting experience
• 3-5 years at a media/mass communications outlet
• Experience with B2B audiences and familiarity with business journalism and ability to interpret business concepts
• Familiarity with publishing daily email newsletters
• Strong writing and editing experience and ability to produce 2-3 articles weekly on strict deadlines
• A proven track record of strong writing and reporting skills
• Deep curiosity about emerging technologies
• Aptitude for building source relationships to advance original reporting
• Experience pitching to and working collaboratively with an editor
• Ability to write under deadline in a fast-paced news environment
• Experience creating snippets for social media posts, boilers, and teasers.
• Must be able to write engaging social media posts
• Must be able to use a content management system (currently uses content stack)
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or creative writing.
• Mindset: Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated to see what needs to be done and to do it well.

The salary range for the role is 55,000 - 60,000 USD depending on experience
