    Job Description

    Heavy Reading, the research division and Light Reading and part of the global information services company Informa, is a market research and consulting group that offers deep analysis of emerging telecom trends to network operators, technology suppliers, and investors. We are currently seeking an experienced principal analyst to lead the group’s coverage of cloud service assurance, customer relationship experience and enterprise transformation associated with migrating service provider legacy and on-prem services to telco cloud and third-party public clouds.

    Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Heavy Reading’s coverage of the rapidly evolving service assurance, analytics, orchestration, and enterprise service delivery market by authoring research reports, conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, writing research-driven articles, delivering presentations, and leading consulting engagements.

    This position requires the ability to effectively communicate thought-provoking and original analytical findings to a global client base that includes technology vendors and service providers, government agencies, industry associations, and the financial community.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Candidates should have expertise in at least several of the following areas:

    • Centralized and distributed cloud reference applications
    • Cloud and legacy service provider service assurance and operational (OSS) and provisioning platforms
    • Cloud and legacy service provider business support systems (BSS) including integration opportunities into public clouds
    • AI and ML systems for service provider and public cloud networks
    • Cloud-native microservices
    • Analytics and data repositories
    • Device and network testing
    • Virtualized workload orchestration systems
    • Enterprise and uCPE network reference architectures for legacy, service provider cloud and public cloud networks.

    Key competencies:

    • At least 10 years of relevant work experience
    • Established relationships with key telecom and IT industry participants
    • Exceptional writing skills
    • Solid quantitative analysis, ability to synthesize and conclusions and create analytical frameworks from primary research
    • Strong secondary research / information discovery and aggregation skills
    • Good interviewing skills
    • Excellent presentation skills and executive presence
    • Technology market research / industry analysis experience is strongly preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
