Divisional Vice President of Marketing, Content Marketing & Audience Development
Job Description
The Divisional Vice President of Marketing, Audience Development and Content will play a key role in engaging with and converting audience prospects into audience members while creating and using high value content in coordination with Marketing, Editorial, Product, Data and Analytics to assist with Prospect Marketing and Client Marketing. The role requires the ability to lead across all marketing functions and drive demand for all the brands/products/services across the Markets in the Vertical Division. The Vertical Division of Informa Tech covers several industries: Automotive, Channel, Government & Manufacturing, Media & Entertainment and Service Provider through industry leading digital media, community websites, research and intelligence, events and training. This position will report to the President of the Division.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & ACCOUNTABILITY
LEADERSHIP
• Leadership of the divisional Marketing capability through a matrixed role, including resourcing/workforce planning, onboarding, developing, performance managing, coaching & mentoring a high performing team. Is focused on continuous personal development for self and the wider team.
• Proven global leadership presence and capability - drives innovation, thought leadership and a culture of high performance and data-driven continuous improvement within the marketing function
• Responsible for consistency in execution alignment to strategic objectives and reinforcing best practices across the marketing organization.
STRATEGY
• Ensures successful Audience Development strategy across the division. Works closely with central marketing SEO team, marketing leads, content leads, and product to build our audience development strategy across markets, increasing marketable audience and improving engagement.
• Providing the vision for the integrated go-to-market strategy focused on raising awareness, interest, desire and action in the core persona markets aligned to the Informa Tech strategy and Market OKRs (Audiences in the buy side of the industry, business executives and IT practitioners, and clients on the sell side of the industry, strategists, bus dev, product management, marketers and sales).
• Sets and oversees the execution of the divisional marketing objectives in terms of strategy, positioning and key messages.
• Works with the Marketing Directors and Central Marketing Operations in establishing the budget to support the objectives and strategy
• Provides leadership and direction to grow audiences that drives increased revenue
• Has a deep understanding of the competitive external market; understanding and staying current on trends impacting clients and customers.
• Articulates a clear understanding of how to extract value and ROI from advertising, sponsorship and exhibiting (SPEX), Media and Marketing Services, Digital Solutions, Webinars and in-person/hybrid/virtual events.
• Working with our central OMDIA Marketing team, sets strategy of demand generation for Research/Content; leads on the brands owned by the data and research business, and supports creative and design for all customer-facing touchpoints
• Holds relationships with key industry associations and influencers to be in tune with market conditions, challenges, growth opportunities to help guide strategic marketing messaging
• Responsible for PR for the division through enhanced thought leadership opportunities, increased social presence, placing content experts and senior leadership at industry events to drive increased awareness for our market brands.
• Works with divisional President and HRBP on internal communications and employee engagement.
Qualifications
• 10+ years in Marketing Leadership with preference for experience in the Technical, Digital, or Media Industry
• Experience in the disciplines of Campaign Management, SEO/SEM, Brand and Direct response marketing, Field Marketing, ABM, Marketing Automation, Creative Design and Omni-channel deployment.
• Proven prior experience in building and maintaining relationships and understanding customer needs.
• Ability to manage senior stakeholders and large complex customers
• Deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Proven industry/Knowledge; Audience Development, Content Marketing, Events, Digital Media, Marketing Services and Research
• Experience in driving change/embedding long term behavioral change in the organization
• Being customer-centric
• Embedding a culture of agile marketing and test and learn
• Marketing Leadership experience; excellent coaching skills; ability to observe, evaluate, and give meaningful feedback
• Highly developed negotiation & communication skills
• Planning, developing and executing go to market strategic, marketing plans, and accurate forecasting
• Engaging at a senior level, building long lasting relationships, solutions selling with highly developed negotiation skills, executive presence and presentation abilities
• Data Analytical Skills - review data and information, draw conclusions and actionable takeaways.
• Commerciality/commercial acumen
• Deep understanding of all audience development channels – SEO, social, newsletter, and partnerships. Strong knowledge of project management
• Expertise/knowledge of best practice/latest thinking in the field of Public Relations
The pay range for this position is $150,000 - $190,000 depending on experience and location.
