Select Source Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our mission-critical cybersecurity team supporting the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA). This role is essential in assessing, designing, and implementing secure IT architectures that comply with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. The ISSE will provide deep technical expertise in aligning system security requirements with operational goals and security mandates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a cybersecurity subject matter expert in designing and integrating secure system architectures.

• Analyze, document, and refine IT system requirements with a focus on security integration.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF guidelines.

• Collaborate with system owners, engineers, and ISSMs to embed security controls early in the system development lifecycle.

• Assess system vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies across the enterprise architecture.

• Support authorization and accreditation (A&A) activities by preparing technical documentation and risk assessments.

• Contribute to the development of security engineering policies and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited or CAE-designated institution.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant cybersecurity engineering experience.

• Must possess and maintain an active IT Tier 5 security background investigation.

• Must hold at least one of the following certifications (must be kept current):

  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

  • Certified Information Systems Security Officer (CISSO)

  • Federal IT Security Professional – Designer (FITSP-D)

  • GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)

  • GIAC Cloud Security Automation (GCSA)

  • GIAC Cloud Leadership (GCLD)

  • GIAC Data Security Architect (GDSA)

  • GIAC Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)

  • CISSP with Architecture Specialty (CISSP-ISSAP)

  • CISSP with Engineering Specialty (CISSP-ISSEP)

  Salary: $116,800 to $157,900.  This positon is a proposal position that is part of a government contract.
