  • Responsibilities

    Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a candidate for a Linux Systems Administrator role to contribute to a team of three providing System Administration on a Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) network supporting a US Government customer. The selected candidate will work on a local network of workstations and servers consisting of approximately 240 assets. The primary role involves managing VMs on Linux based servers (Ubuntu, Cent OS, ANSIBLE and Red Hat) and the secondary role includes Windows hosting a backup solution using VEEAM.

    Specific job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Virtual Machine configuration and maintenance
    • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with software and hardware
    • Patching computer systems
    • Application of STIGs to desktops
    • Knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe products
    • Familiarity with group policy

    CERTIFICATIONS (IAT LEVEL I)

    One of the following:

    • A+ CE
    • Network+ CE
    • Security+ CE
    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
    • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
    • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

    and one of the following:

    • Linux +
    • LPIC-2 Advanced Level Linux Professional
    • LPIC-3 Senior Level Linux Professional
    • RHCE Red Hat Certified Engineer
    • RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator
    • RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist

    and one of the following:

    • Configuring Windows 10
    • Configuring Windows 7

    Note: more advanced certifications, such as MCITP, MCSA, and MCSE will be accepted!

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • 3+ Years of Experience with Linux Operating Systems
    • 2+ Years of Experience with VM management

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITIL Certification
    • Experience with the IAVM process
    • Knowledge of Nutanix
