  • Responsibilities

    Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a candidate to help review code and third party software as the team converts C++ code to Python.  The code written in Python will be used as an interface to Fortran code that provides instructions to various scientific instruments. In addition to programming, the selected candidate will administer and troubleshoot physical and virtual Linux operating system servers and hosts, and Windows hosts that support a group who builds atmospheric models to produce RF, IR, and sensor performance predictions for the Fleet.

    Specific job duties include:

    • Interpret Python scripts and edit basic scripts for use in the lab
    • Assist with the design of database systems and storage plans
    • Operate, administer, and troubleshoot virtualized Linux operating systems
    • Performing routine audits of the system and applying updates, patches, and configuration changes as required
    • Harden Linux systems in compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs)
    • Operate, administer, and troubleshoot Windows 10 desktop/ laptop systems

    Clearance Level

    • Secret

    Certifications (IAT Level II)

    One of the following:

    • Security+ CE
    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
    • Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
    • System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

    Required Skills

    • 3+ Years of Experience with Linux Systems
    • Knowledge of FORTRAN and Visual Basic
    • Experience with Red Hat VM environment

    Desired Skills

    • Knowledge of scientific coding
    • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ITIL Certification
    • Experience with the IAVM process
