  • Responsibilities

    Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a candidate to provide mid to senior level Unix/ Linux System Administration on the Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network supporting NIWC PAC in San Diego, CA. The selected candidate will work as the Systems Administrator for Confluence, Jira, and other Atlassian applications, along with their associated directories and databases (LDAP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). Support includes planning and scheduling application and third-party software upgrades a customer managing and configuring Linux Servers as part of an effort to update the NIWC Hub and Hub Services.

    Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    • 4-8 years’ experience as a systems administrator, preferably in the Linux environment
    • Proof of Linux expertise (e.g CompTIA Linux+ certification, Red Hat System Administration I certification, etc.)
    • Experience hardening Unix/Linux (e.g. meeting STIG requirements)
    • AWS System Administration, including Azure, VMware and work with Virtual Machines
    • Experience with Containerization
    • Using Ansible and Python or other scripting languages for automation
    • Maintaining system configurations, user access, and issue-level security to protect user privacy and data integrity.
    • Database management (especially PostgreSQL)
    • Managing Atlassian software products.
    • Experience with LDAP, Java, Git, and Tomcat
    • Analyzing and refining customer requirements for business process automation.
    • Testing and evaluating system performance.
    • Translating customer requirements into business automation workflows scalable across the NIWC workforce.
    • Managing IA updates as required.
    • Completing ACAS Scans and remediating findings.
    • Performing and documenting all applicable STIGs.
    • Developing documentation, including code, for sysadmin duties, back-ups, and Network Security (NetSec) service requests.
