Position Overview:
The Information Technology Project Manager (ITPM) is a technical representative charged with executing and delivery of technology projects and programs identified by LACCD OIT and approved funding by the BuildLACCD Districtwide bond-funded projects. This position will serve as a dedicated point of contact providing constant interactions with the Program Management Office (PMO), Office of Information Technology (OIT), consultants, vendors, systems engineers, and implementers to ensure designs, technical, functional and businessrequirements are met. The ITPM will respond to all of the technology project requirements and provide project and technical leadership to successfully deliver IT projects on time and within budget. The ITPM will also perform a support role to Districtwide IT, Security, and AV projects where needed. It is expected that the ITPM will produce tangible deliverables to support their collaboration and communication efforts. The ITPM will manage and coordinate the implementation of complex Information Technology (IT) and Information Systems (IS) projects, including but not limited to:
Network
Voice and Data Systems (VoIP, Network Switching, WIFI)
Data Center Buildout
TR/ER Buildout
LAN/WAN
Audio Visual Systems
Smart Classrooms
Video Conferencing
Training Rooms
A/V Infrastructure oversight Security

Servers and Storage - Plan and deploy servers and storage upgrades for Districtwide applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Cybersecurity – Plan and deploy firewalls and cybersecurity solutions to help secure the District’s network.
Security Cameras – Plan and deploy security camera systems, workstations, and recording equipment.
Position Description:
Successfully manage and execute 5 to 10 projects simultaneously, ranging in value and complexity from $1M to $25M each
Ability to support a multi-campus environment
Develop comprehensive project plans for assigned project plans using MS Project
Develop stakeholder registers and perform stakeholder mapping where appropriate
Develop project with project scheduling team or independently to drive project timelines
Develop WBS and leverage Due Date Performance for project schedule timeline horizon
Collaborate with internal and external IT resources for the successful project execution
Documents and reports all project data accurately and in a timely manner
Schedules project meetings and create Meeting Minutes for all meetings attended
Successfully deliver IT projects on schedule and within budget
Good understanding of Earned Value Management Principles
Assess, communicate, and mitigate risks by utilizing contingency plans as needed and documenting and tracking risks via a centralized risk register
Report and collaborate with Program Management Office on all IT project and program matters
Review and develop IT-related contract documents and ensure deliverables are complete and accurate
Develop detailed technical scopes of work to support IT projects and programs
Utilize SharePoint technologies for document and artifact repositories
Evaluate vendor/contractor’s job performance and compliance with scope documents.
Review and evaluate IT project submittals.
Coordinate Asset Tagging with Asset Disposition/Surplus, and Relocation teams
Track all project status and provide mid to executive-level management status reports relative to overall program relative to IT project delivery schedules
Plan, organize, coordinate, and report performance of IT projects and programs to include cost, scope and schedule
Engage and work with stakeholders to align requirements, project deliverables
Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
Present project updates on weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis
Follow project closure procedures for the successful transition of the project to operations
Minimum Required Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of experience in project management of enterprise IT projects
Experience managing multiple IT projects with differing complexities and size
Skilled at leading project team in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Experience with project financials, project scope, and adhering to project budget
Strong understanding of Earned Value Management principles
Strong understanding of enterprise computing; data centers, servers, route/switch, multi-tiered applications and ERP
Experience deploying network infrastructure, including Cisco, HP, and Aruba.
Experience with deploying VoIP and IP based solutions
Experience with DC, MDFs, and IDF rooms
Experience with deploying wireless networks and related technologies
Experience with deploying security technologies such as Everbridge, Milestone, or similar
Detailed involvement of all project development lifecycle including initiation, planning, design, monitoring and controlling, execution and closeout with IT project management
Experience working with business and IT stakeholders at all levels of management to understand needs, gathering requirements, and develop a project charter (project initiation documentation).
Understanding of PEWs, ROMs and SOWs
Good understanding of resource management
Strong understanding of PPM tools and/or Microsoft Project
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Good understanding of KPIs and Metrics
