Internship Overview: We are seeking a motivated Information Technology and Information Systems Intern to join our team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of Information Technology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insight into IT operations, support, and projects within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Administration: Assist in maintaining and configuring IT systems, including servers, networks, and databases.
- Information Security: Assist in organizational IT audits and compliance efforts to identify risks and vulnerabilities.
- IT Projects: Participate in IT initiatives, such as software upgrades, system migrations, or cybersecurity audits.
- Documentation: Document IT processes, procedures, and configurations for future reference.
- Risk Assessment: Collaborate on vulnerability and gap analysis to help reduce the information security risks.
- Research and Analysis: Assist in researching new technologies or solutions to improve IT infrastructure and operations.
- Governance: Assist with the Governance, Risk, and Compliance team to perform impact analysis and create treatment plans as needed.
- Policy Review : Assist with organizational and IT policy review to ensure policies are designed as intended.
Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA 3.0 is Required.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Information Science
- Strong passion for technology and eagerness to learn.
- Fundamental understanding of IT concepts and principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with other IT team members.
- Knowledge of risk management and cybersecurity frameworks.
Additional Requirements:
- Availability to work 30 hours per week
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Prior internship or relevant work experience is a plus.
- Experience working in MS Office Suite.
- Solid understanding of identifying IT risks.
- Technical writing experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Cloud Environments, such as Azure Active Directory, is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
- Eagerness to learn and stay acquainted with emerging technologies.
- High attention to detail.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (Security +, Network +, A+, ISC2 CC, ITIL) are a plus but not required.
Working Conditions:
