Job Title: Customer Success Engineer/ Software Engineer - Product R/D - I
Location: San Francisco
Duration: 6+ months W2 contract with possible extension/ conversion
Description:
Understand solutions / processes rapidly developed and continuously evolving for customer use including also partner solutions and processes integrated into or impacting Spinnaker pipelines.
Understand customer use cases, priorities and timelines for deliverables; recommend workflows and solutions.
Support users on configuration and use of Spinnaker pipelines on various venues e.g. Slack, email, office hours; meet with customers to further discuss design and particular issues as necessary.
Triage issues and failures: for spinnaker pipelines and templatization of pipelines using Jinja2; for upstream services e.g. artifact delivery and replication, for integrated partner solutions e.g. secret management, Kubernetes management; and for spinnaker environment e.g. gcp / aws
Create tickets for feature requests and issue investigation. Collect information and data, follow up and test solutions.
Work closely with the customers and partner teams on integration of solutions into Spinnaker pipelines e.g. Kubernetes management, secrets management, PKI certificates, service discovery
Work closely with developers, Spinnaker service administrators and QA engineers on re-creation, investigation and resolution of broken features, service availability and reliability issues, performance degradation.
Work closely with technical writer to create, update and review documentation for users; research and / or test solutions and processes and write up FAQs.
Work closely with internal training group on curriculum and training of users. create videos and other training materials as necessary.
Requirements / Skills:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
2-4 years experience including service engineering and user support
Experience with Spinnaker / Spin CLI / Spinnaker APIs
Experience with public clouds including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Compute Platform (GCP).
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, JSON and Jinja2
Knowledge of SDLC processes and practices
Knowledge of security patterns and practices
Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Ability to work collaboratively with others and have excellent spoken and written communication skills
Experience with Helm Charts is a plus
