Software Engineer - UI and Apps

Remote - US

You will be writing code in an Agile software development environment. Embedded on a small team to deliver software based on user stories and high-fidelity designs. You will work with a product manager and your team to define the scope of your work and estimate complexity. It will be your responsibility to communicate with the design team and your product manager when designs do not match a feature’s needs. You will work with your team to resolve defects and bugs found in the code base, continually improving both the code and your team’s process along the way.

Required Experience:

• 4+ years of software development experience, 2 years of product development experience.
• Knows vanilla JavaScript and is familiar with future JS standards like ES6 and ES7
• Experience with Javascript libraries React and Redux
• Ability to create complex interfaces with HTML and CSS from high-fidelity designs and prototypes
• Knowledge of browser to browser communication: WebSockets, REST services and CORS
• Experience using build tools like Webpack, Grunt, Gulp
• Experience with TDD and unit testing front-end business logic
• Familiar with Node and npm
• Understanding of key programming concepts: functional programming, object-oriented design, design patterns, etc.

Preferred Experience:

• Have used a CSS abstraction: sass, less, styles
• Built apps with Webpack
• Understands DevOps tech: Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Familiarity with backend related technologies suck as Java, Python, Nodejs is a plus
• Familiar with JIRA, BitBucket
• Experience with geographically diverse team members
