    BUSINESS AND DATA ANALYST CONTRACTOR: Are you an extraordinary Business Analyst who is looking to join a team at the heart of Expedia's business? Our Development Platform and Infrastructure (DP&I) technology products and operations power Expedia's online travel brands worldwide. DP&I teams are diverse – we build and maintain foundational systems and infrastructure like data-centers, development tools, and enterprise security. The Strategic Initiatives team works across the many groups and products that make up DP&I and the broader Expedia Group (EG) to deliver large, complex technology initiatives. The Business Analyst will play a meaningful role supporting the Strategic Initiatives team to deliver a key EG strategic initiative with high visibility and company impact. You will shape the strategy and planning of the initiative through detailed data analysis, reporting, and driving continuous improvements. This role is unique and inherently cross-functional - you will collaborate across Expedia Group’s divisions and teams. WHAT YOU’LL DO: DATA ANALYSIS • You will identify, gather, analyze, report, and maintain key data to inform strategic decisions and program execution. • You will assist with scenario modeling and strategic initiative planning • You will operate effectively within the organization's formal and informal structures by building relationships across departments and divisions to enable data gathering and analysis CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT • You will work to continually identify process and information gaps, define solutions, and drive improvements • You will work across team boundaries with multiple product and program managers to appropriately prioritize work to align with overall initiative goals WHO YOU ARE: LEADERSHIP / INTERPERSONAL / COMMUNICATION • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship building skills • Experience working cross-culturally with an ability to adapt personal style to different environments ANALYTICAL ABILITIES / PROBLEM SOLVING • Strong data analysis skills with proven ability to gather, structure, and interpret, and maintain large datasets in an effective and meaningful ways • Strong modeling skills to inform planning and decision making • Strong reporting skills to enable effective tracking and communication OTHER CHARACTERISTICS • A real passion for continuous excellence and driving process and methodology improvements • Creative thinker with initiative and ability to work independently within your scope of work • Strong attention to detail EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent • 3+ years of related experience • Proficient in MS Excel, SQL, and Tableau, or equivalent database and reporting tools
