    Job Description

    Engineering Technician Location: South Bend, IN. • Ability to read basic electrical/instrumentation drawings and schematics • Some experience in test support and documentation. • Have practical experience working with engineering equipment • Systematic troubleshooting skills and recognition of when outside assistance is required • Organized work habits and the application of 5S principles • Sound technical judgment of high priority and critical items and opinions that needs to be reported to the upper management for decision making. • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting. • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events. • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness. We are an aircraft wheel and brake and fuel controls test laboratory looking to train aircraft component test technicians. The best candidates are mechanically inclined, comfortable with computers and detail oriented. If this is you, we want to talk with you. We are looking at candidates that

    • Have a mechanical background. You know and have used tools (auto mechanic, backyard mechanic, equipment maintenance, etc.)
    • Can spot problems and maybe even troubleshoot.
    • Have used a torque wrench, micrometer and scales.
    • Are comfortable using computers such as email, Excel, looking up documents, etc.
    • Have a conscientious and quality mindset. What we ask of you
    • Be a HS grad (or GED) minimum.
    • Be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
    • Be able to read and understand written procedures.
    • Be mechanically inclined.
    • Can use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Be comfortable performing a variety of tasks from pushing a broom to training to build and test brake systems.
    • Be trainable.
    • Be flexible for any of 3 shifts and weekends as needed.
    • Be available for overtime when necessary. What you should expect
    • Perform recurring work independently
    • You will rely on a computer.
    • You will regularly use micrometers, torque wrenches and scales.
    • You will learn to document data precisely both in writing and on a computer.
    • You will follow technical written procedures.
    • You may be required to work an off shift or a weekend.
    • You will be required to work overtime occasionally.
    • You will be trained and mentored by a team leader.
