POSITION TITLE      Software Dev Engineer I

LOCATION               Chicago, IL

DURATION              18+ Months  

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Software Development Engineer I, you will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting and testing code. You will be required to practice test driven development and will need to adhere to clean coding standards and best practices. The right candidate will be capable of aiding and triaging complex production incidents. You will need to work with and create highly scalable cloud enabled applications that are able to communicate well within a hybrid environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-You will develop, design, debug, and modify components of software applications and tools in agile environment

-You will write automated unit, integration and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines.

-Participate in code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility

-Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and methodologies, specifically scrum and/or Kanban

-Prototype creative solutions quickly by developing minimum viable products and work with seniors and peers in crafting and implementing the technical vision

-Communicate and work effectively with distributed cross functional teams

-Resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur with peer. Follow through on details and drive issues to closure

-Work towards continuous improvement in software and development process within an agile development team

-Participate in user story creation in collaboration with the team

QUALIFICATIONS:

-Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, Html5, CSS3 and testing framework like Jest

-Experience with MVC or component-based UI frameworks

-Experience/working knowledge of Typescript, Javascript ES6, module bundlers(like webpack, gulp etc), NodeJs (a plus)

-Experience/working knowledge with React & Redux frameworks. (a plus)

-AWS Experience/working knowledge (a plus)

-Experience using code versioning tools for e.g Git or others

-Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices

-Software UI design principles and passion for developing great user experiences.

-Experience creating and supporting Web Services in a high transactional environment

-Excellent communication skills in written and verbal form

-Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computing related discipline or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3 years of related experience.

PROGRAMS/TOOLS THAT WILL BE USED ON THE ASSIGNMENT -- Screen Share/Pair Programming/Hacker Rank • PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED _-- Min 3yrs of demonstrated working experience _ • EXAMPLES OF WORK IN ADDITION TO THE RESUME -- All things UI development involving React/Redux Typescript, Javascript ES6, module bundlers(like webpack, gulp etc)
