    Job Description

    The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the TROUBLE SHOOTING, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF ELECTRO-MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT USED IN THE COMPOUNDING, FILL AND PACK AND PRE-WEIGH manufacturing areas. • Must have a fundamental KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY AND MECHANICAL TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT, MAINTAIN, TEST, TROUBLESHOOT AND IMPROVE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER-CONTROLLED MANUFACTURING EQUIPMENT • Electrical and electronic instrumentation scope of duties would include: maintenance of sensors, instruments, relays, temperature controls motors and Variable Frequency Motor drives (24Vdc control voltage, 120Vac to 480Vac/3 phase power). • Mechanical scope of work would include: mechanical machine set-up, parts replacement (PNEUMATICS, CAMS, BRAKES, BEARINGS, CONVEYORS, GEARMOTORS). • PERFORM AS DIRECTED, DOCUMENTING COMPLETED WORK IN THE COMPUTERIZED MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (MAXIMO). • Responsible for maintaining safety devices/circuits on machines and keep them in optimal operating condition. Must respect and abide by all safety guarding and interlocks when equipment is not Locked out. • Responsible for escalation of issues concerning status production equipment. • Required to follow company safety, Permit to Work, quality policies and SOP’s. • Complete all documentation timely, accurately following Good Documentation Practices. • Required to be able to be able to read, interpret, understand equipment manuals, drawings, PID’s and electrical schematics. • Must be willing to support Maintenance activities during holidays, weekends, off shift and shutdowns upon request. • Comply with Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and regulations. Maintain clean and orderly work areas. • Additional duties may include working with engineers in the start-up and training of new equipment/systems. • May provide cross training and technical guidance for fellow maintenance personnel and production personnel.

    Qualifications

    • Candidate must have a HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT. An ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN ENGINEERING or ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY OR EQUIVALENT IS PREFERRED. • MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF PRIOR EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A MANUFACTURING support or ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN FIELD. • Prior experience working in a CGMP Facility is preferred. • Experience working with PLC controlled systems and troubleshooting Input/Output (I/O) cards preferred (however PLC programing skills are not required). • Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. • Must be able at times to kneel, bend down, crawl under conveyors and work occasionally from elevated heights (ladders, scaffolding or powered lifts). • Must be a Team player and able to work in a Team environment.
